Job summary

MaineGuide in Maine/Saco is seeking an Inspection Tester I to perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and magnetic particle inspections (MPI) on designated components. You will set up NDT equipment, interpret results, and ensure conformance to specs and procedures.

Responsibilities include developing inspection techniques, training operators, collaborating with Level III personnel and engineers, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass written and practical tests for certification and re-certify every three procedures.
• Must pass annual eye examination.
• Knowledge of NDT methods and defects such as surface/open/sub-surface.
• Speciality Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop techniques to inspect components and train operators.
• Work with Level III, lab personnel and engineers; consult with manufacturers to establish criteria and techniques.
• Perform demagnetization, interpret results, and apply acceptance criteria.
• Carry out setup inspections when tooling changes; use GD&T and precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain laboratory reports and quality data; forward rejected material to MRB for disposition.
• Perform operator tasks per maintenance checklist and follow safety guidelines.
