Job summary

Element Hartford is seeking an experienced Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) Level II or III to be a hands-on resource in our NDT operation. You will perform wet continuous and residual MPI on aerospace components, and develop and maintain MPI technique plans and inspection documentation.

This is a working position focused on inspection execution, technique development, troubleshooting, and supporting the MPI operation's technical needs.

Qualifications

• Current or recent NAS-410 level II certification in magnetic particle inspection.
• Experience performing MPI in aerospace/manufacturing/high-spec environments.
• Ability to interpret drawings and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform MPI inspections (wet continuous and residual) per specs and procedures.
• Set up and operate MPI equipment, including magnetizing units and coils.
• Verify settings and inspection parameters before and during testing.
• Prepare, magnetize, apply particles, inspect, demagnetize and clean parts.
• Identify, evaluate and document indications per specs and criteria.
• Inspect complex aerospace components with multiple magnetization directions.
• Develop, maintain MPI technique sheets/plans for parts.
• Review customer specs and determine inspection requirements.
• Maintain records and assist in technique validation and updates.
