Job summary

General Dynamics - Ordnance and Tactical Systems (AR,ME,NE,OH,VT) in Saco, ME, seeks an Inspection Tester #1 for 1st shift to perform NDT and MPI, set up equipment, and ensure conformance to procedures. You will work with Level III and engineers to establish inspection criteria and techniques.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 35 pounds, passing required certifications and eye exams, and contributing to safety, accuracy, and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Must pass written and practical tests for certification and re-certify every three (3) per procedure.
• Must pass annual eye examination.
• Shall be capable of establishing methods of NDT inspection equipment, such as coil or head magnetization depending on size and design.
• Shall be knowledgeable of NDT of the item being inspected and the defect types sought.
• Must be knowledgeable of standardization, specimen verification, and equipment calibration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop techniques to inspect components and train others.
• Perform demagnetization and interpret test results per NDT procedure.
• Carry out GD&T inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Notify supervision of uncleared red tag conditions and forward rejected material for disposition.
• Maintain laboratory reports and record quality control data.
