Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking an NDT - Eddy Current Test contractor for Auburn, WA. The role focuses on nondestructive testing using ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant methods to detect defects.

The selected candidate will set up equipment, perform performance checks, document results, and assist in developing NDT procedures while maintaining calibration and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have NAS410 or BSS7698 Level 2 certification in at least one NDT method (e.g., Ultrasonic).
• Strong understanding of NDT principles and techniques.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee nondestructive testing procedures in accordance with NAS410 or BSS7698 standards.
• Utilize NDT methods including ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing to detect defects.
• Set up and standardize equipment, conduct system performance checks, process parts, and document results.
• Assist in development and implementation of NDT procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain NDT equipment and ensure calibration and correct functioning.

PAY RATE: $33.00 - 55.00/hour

Summary:

• Performs and oversees nondestructive testing (NDT) procedures in accordance with NAS410 or BSS7698 standards.
• Utilizes NDT methods including ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing to detect defects.
• Sets up and standardizes equipment, conducts system performance checks, processes parts, interprets and evaluates for acceptance or rejection, and documents results.
• Obtains formal training hours required for certification including additional add-on training such as Computed Tomography.
• Assists in development and implementation of NDT procedures and work instructions.
• Maintains NDT equipment and ensures calibration and correct functioning.
• Inspects and reports issues with reference standards to Level 3 and NDT manager.
• Develops written work instructions from approved general procedures for final approval by Engineer Level 3 or Level 3 certified in the method.
• Performs method surveillances in EPES and addresses findings when required.
• Applies basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology and aircraft or vehicle maintenance.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Documented formal training in Nondestructive Testing (may be added as necessary).
• NAS410 or BSS7698 Level 2 certification in at least one NDT method (e.g., Ultrasonic).
• Strong understanding of NDT principles and techniques.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and contractual specifications controlling the method used at site.
• Ability to provide guidance or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in certified method and safety protocols.
• Willingness to train outside of Washington location to obtain NDT certification.
• Preferred: Technical degree in a related field.
