Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking an NDT Apprentice in Manchester, CT to support the NDT team in performing inspections using FPI, Computed Radiography, Eddy Current, and Ultrasonic methods.

Responsibilities include following inspection guidelines, maintaining records, and generating reports. The role requires a High School diploma or GED and the ability to learn GD&T and read engineering drawings. ITAR and export-control considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient or capable of learning and applying GD&T for blueprint/model interpretation and acceptance activities.
• Must be proficient or capable of learning to read engineering and manufacturing drawings.
• Must be capable of learning assigned NDT method(s). Specifically, FPI, Computed Radiography, Eddy Current Inspection and Ultrasonic Inspection.
• Demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions on how to inspect, process and disposition aerospace components as applicable parts.
• Follow established procedures and part specific techniques.
• Successfully perform calibrations, tests, and evaluations with NDT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Following general inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies and materials.
• Maintaining inspection records and documentation in accordance with government, customer, and company standards.
• Record test results, generate reports.
• Inspect (once trained/certified) details, subcomponents and finished products in required NDT methods. Specifically, FPI, Computed Radiography, Eddy Current Inspection and Ultrasonic Inspection.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
