Job summary

Astrion is seeking an NDE Associate Engineer III for Kennedy Space Center, FL to support the LASSO II contract. The role involves 2nd shift work with initial 1st shift training to ensure proficiency, and potential long-term 1st shift support based on mission needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific field required
  • 14+ years of related experience or 16 years equivalent preferred
  • ASNT Level III in at least 3 NDE methods required
  • Must be able to pass a security clearance and US citizenship required for unescorted access to work areas

Responsibilities

  • Train and certify NDE Technician personnel to ASNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189, and AIA/NAS 410
  • Prepare and validate SOPs for nondestructive evaluations
  • Assist in maintaining the industrial radiographer radiation safety program
  • Develop maintenance instructions for NDE equipment
  • Review and approve NDE inspection reports
  • Conduct pre-inspection walk downs with customers to define NDE requirements and acceptance criteria
