Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC seeks a Project Manager to lead NCDOT road, bridge, and utility projects in Cary/Raleigh. Manage from preconstruction through closeout, with a ready backlog and direct access to senior leadership.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil work, strong cost control and scheduling skills, and NCDOT experience. Relocation to the Triangle area is welcome.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as the Project Manager of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work.
• NCDOT project experience as the PM is required. Be ready to name the jobs.
• You have already run projects in their entirety. This is not a step up role for an APM or Project Engineer.
• Contractor side builders only. Consultant, design or inspection only backgrounds will not fit.
• Strong on cost control, schedules, change orders and managing field teams.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.
• Triangle candidates preferred. Candidates open to relocating to the Raleigh area are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as the Project Manager of record, from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job you run.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as the main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and the handoff so the job starts right.
• Keep a strong safety culture on every site.
