Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking NCCER-certified Boilermakers / Pipefitters in the Houston area. The role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems for industrial facilities.

Non-exempt position reporting to the Foreman, with duties per procedures and frequent checks. Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, NCCER certification, and 1–4 years of experience depending on level.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Must have NCCER certification.
• 1–4 years of experience in the specified skill depending on level.
• Proficiency with grinders, oxy/acetylene torch.
• Rigging experience.
• A-class Pipefitter requires basic knowledge of field drawings and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of cross pattern bolting for flanged pipe connections.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Able to use framing square for pipefitting tasks.
• Know how to use power tools to prepare pipe for cutting, welding, threading, and bolting.
• A-class pipefitters must make accurate weld connection fit ups.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and policy acceptance.
• Comply with safety requirements.
• Must not pose direct threat to health or safety.

Responsibilities

• Selects and inspects proper safety gear for tasks.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe; assembles and installs fittings.
• Joins pipe by threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
• Secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, supports and hangers.
• Installs and maintains refrigeration and AC systems and piping.
• Tests piping system for leaks.
• Uses power tools including electric, pneumatic, and battery powered.
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
