Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking NCCER-certified Boilermakers and Pipefitters (Level 1–3) for on-site work in the Baton Rouge, LA area. Responsibilities include laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and related systems for industrial processing.

The role is non-exempt, reports to the Foreman, and requires safety compliance, tool proficiency, and the ability to read drawings and use power tools. Final compensation is based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• NCCER certification required.
• 1–4 years of experience in the specified skill level, depending on mechanic level.
• Demonstrated proficiency with construction tools (grinders, oxy/acetylene torch).
• Rigging.
• A-class Pipefitter requires basic knowledge of field drawings, sketches and engineering drawings.
• Know how to connect flanged pipe using cross pattern bolting.
• Read and use a tape measure.
• Understand framing square for pipefitting tasks.
• Know to use power tools to prepare pipe for cutting, welding, threading and bolting.
• A-class pipefitters must make accurate weld connection fit ups.
• Post offer drug/alcohol screen and safety policy confirmation.
• Comply with site safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Selects and inspects safety gear before work.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe; assembles and installs pipe fittings.
• Joins pipe with threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
• Secures pipe to structures with clamps, supports and hangers.
• Installs and maintains refrigeration/AC piping systems and controls.
• Tests piping systems for leaks.
• Uses various power tools (electric, pneumatic, battery).
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor.
