Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drives equipment to work site and directs activities of hoist laborer or rigger to place blocks and out riggers.
• Reads, studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blue prints; uses basic math to calculate tasks with minimal supervision.
• Starts engine and operates controls to raise, lower, and extend booms and loads.
• Receives and gives hand signals to flagman to position equipment and materials.
• Interprets load charts and selects proper sling and choker using geometry.
• Identifies hazardous conditions such as unstable ground, high winds, or traffic congestion.
• Checks equipment condition and performs maintenance such as lubrication and inspecting cables.
