Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience in operating heavy equipment.
• Rigging and flagging skills are required.
• Must pass PALA Interstate Certification Exam.
• 20/30 and 20/50 vision with color/depth perception.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• NCCER or NCCCO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment at work sites including crane, backhoe, bulldozer, cherry picker, and others.
• Read plans, blueprints, and job specifications; perform calculations using basic geometry/trigonometry.
• Start and maneuver engines, control levers, and boom movements to position loads.
• Communicate via hand signals or radio with flagman for safe positioning of loads.
• Identify hazardous conditions such as unstable ground or high winds and take action to ensure safety.
