Job summary

Epiphany Family Services is seeking a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented support to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. The role emphasizes using lived experience to foster hope, self-determination, and navigation of recovery resources.

You will offer individualized guidance, advocacy, and coaching, helping clients access housing, employment, education, healthcare, and social supports while collaborating with other healthcare

Qualifications

• NC Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) is required in North Carolina.
• Lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance use services.
• High school diploma or GED is typically required.
• Stability in recovery with no recent crisis or criminal involvement.
• WRAP or equivalent training is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery-oriented peer-based support and coaching.
• Assist with identifying strengths, goals and self-advocacy.
• Help clients access housing, employment, healthcare and social supports.
• Offer crisis intervention and continuity of care guidance.
• Develop self-help, coping, and social skills; assist with daily living tasks.
• Model recovery values to inspire hope and resilience.
• Maintain accurate records and collaborate with healthcare teams.
