Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Chemical Operations Specialist to protect against NBC threats and support natural disaster relief efforts. You will be trained to handle NBC detection and decontamination equipment and assist in applying NBC defense measures, coordinating with civilian personnel in emergencies.

Through Basic and Advanced Individual Training you will gain practical skills and can pursue civilian chemistry/engineering careers afterward.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide training advice and supervision regarding CBRN equipment and operations.
• Assist in the application of NBC defense measures.
• Maintain disaster plans and coordinate with civilian personnel during emergencies.
• Operate and perform maintenance on smoke generating equipment.
