Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Chemical Operations Specialist to support the nation during emergencies and participate in NBC defense operations. You will learn to handle NBC detection and decontamination equipment and assist in emergency planning within a disciplined military environment.

You will undergo Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training, gaining hands-on skills in CBRN defense, maintenance of equipment, and coordination with civilian partners during disasters.

Qualifications

• Involves gaining proficiency with chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense equipment.
• Wears and operates protective gear as part of daily duties.
• Hazardous Materials Certification (awareness level) is required or pursued.
• Exposure to hazardous agents while using CBRN protective equipment may occur.
