Job summary

Amentum in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking a mid-level systems engineer to support the PMX-311 RAM and CIWS weapon systems. You will assist in planning, integration, testing, and qualification across development and in-service activities.

The role requires a STEM degree, 10+ years in DoD/DoW programs, MBSE/DevSecOps familiarity, and the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance. On-site work, with travel<10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline.
• 10+ years engineering experience with DoD/DoW weapons programs.
• Prior experience with engineering and development on Navy Missile or Weapon System program(s).
• Familiarity with the Navy Technical Review Manual (TRM) for US Navy weapon programs.
• Experience with Agile Development and MBSE/DevSecOps.
• Proficient in MS Suite and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support for design, development, production, and in-service activities including system analysis and integration.
• Provide inputs in Safety and E3 areas including review of plans, schedules, tests, and data packages.
• Manage digital efforts such as DevSecOps, MBSE, and Agile development-related activities.
• Support PMX-311 cross-functional planning, execution, and product deliveries to meet program objectives.
• Produce schedules, track metrics, and verify requirements for PMX-311 engineering tasks.
• Stay informed on terminal defense threat landscape and advise on development closures.
• Support RAM Deputy and Technical Director with briefings and project recommendations.
• Develop statements of work, deliverables, and funding requirements; coordinate RFIs.
• Prepare briefing materials and participate in TIMs, SETRs and program reviews.
• Implement SE processes per Navy TRM and support MBSE/adaptive development.
