Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems in York, PA is seeking a Welder/Fitter for the 2nd shift to weld and fit complex piping and pressure vessels for Navy equipment. You will work from isometric drawings, 3-D models, and code specifications, performing welding in multiple positions using SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.

Safety, accuracy, and adherence to Navy standards are essential. The role requires at least 3 years welding experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read prints and use

Qualifications

  • Navy test: pass 2” diameter pipe test with backing ring in 6G position using E7018 filler material.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years welding experience in all positions (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW).
  • Ability to read prints and operation sheets; use basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Read isometric drawings, 3-D models, and welding symbols to lay out fabrications.
  • Weld in all positions and assemble pressure vessel components.
  • Prepare material, clean and weld per Navy standards.
  • Maintain safe, clean work area.
