Job summary

Altron Inc in Middletown, RI is seeking a Test Engineer I to support test procedure development, assist senior engineers in system verification, document results, and help with hardware setup and troubleshooting for Navy training systems.

Ideal candidates have Navy submarine combat or training system exposure, familiarity with AN/BYG-1, basic computer/network skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures. This is a full-time role with DoD security requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience with Navy training systems or submarine combat systems preferred.
• Ability to document test results and update logs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creation and updating of test procedures for Navy training system readiness.
• Support senior testers during system verification and acceptance events at customer sites.
• Identify and report functional or performance issues found during testing.
• Record test results, update logs, and contribute to test reports as directed.
• Assist with setup, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of hardware, networks, and test environments.
• Participate in demonstrations and team discussions to understand system design and provide observations.
• Support routine installation and maintenance tasks for computer and network hardware under guidance.
• Maintain hardware inventories and update documentation for minor configuration changes.
• Work on clearly defined tasks with supervision, with opportunities to increase responsibility.
• Occasionally travel to support testing events.
