Job summary

NEMCSA, a nonprofit Community Action Agency serving Northeast Michigan, seeks a Navigation Specialist to help families access Weatherization services. You will guide applicants, maintain records, and connect clients with needed resources to promote stability and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities include reviewing applications, updating databases, coordinating timelines, and providing information on program guidelines.

What You'll Do

As a Navigation Specialist, you'll play a key role in helping individuals and families access vital services and resources through the Weatherization Program. In this role, you'll help ensure eligible participants receive the support they need by guiding them through application processes, maintaining accurate program information, and connecting them with services that promote stability and self-sufficiency. You will:

  • Support participants by collecting, reviewing, and processing applications and eligibility documentation for Weatherization and related programs.
  • Help maintain accurate client records and ensure data integrity through timely entry and updates in internal and external databases.
  • Assist in coordinating program waitlists, application timelines, and participant communications.
  • Provide information about available services, program guidelines, and eligibility requirements to callers, visitors, and community members.
  • Partner with participants to identify barriers to self-sufficiency and connect them with appropriate internal and external resources.
  • Collaborate with staff, vendors, contractors, volunteers, and community partners to support program operations and participant success.
  • Support the development and maintenance of program materials, intake forms, informational brochures, and eligibility tools.
  • Participate in cross-training and ongoing professional development to maintain knowledge of agency programs and processes.
  • Promote excellent customer service while supporting the mission of helping individuals and families improve their health, safety, and quality of life.

Requirements

Summary
A Few Words From Legal:
