Job summary

Intramotev seeks a Navigation and Controls Engineer to own software turning trips into trajectories, develop control laws, and ensure safe operation of battery-electric railcars and vehicles. You’ll work with MATLAB/Simulink on embedded real-time targets, integrate Kalman-filter state estimation with GNSS/INS data, and validate through simulations and field tests.

The role is office-based in St. Louis, MO, with travel for testing and customer interactions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering guidance/navigation/control for vehicles or robots
• Strong foundation in classical and modern control theory
• Model-based design in MATLAB/Simulink for embedded real-time
• State estimation and sensor fusion (KF/EKF/UKF)
• Motion planning and trajectory generation for constrained systems
• Understanding of vehicle dynamics and safety-critical design
• Proficiency in C/C++/Python for production code
• Experience with Linux and Git in a collaborative workflow
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools a plus
• Excellent written and verbal English communication

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement trajectory generation and motion planning algorithms
• Design and tune control laws for embedded real-time targets
• Integrate state estimation with GNSS/INS and vehicle sensors
• Ensure safety-critical constraints are respected in design
• Validate algorithms via simulations and field testing
• Collaborate with Perception, Embedded, and Controls Simulation teams
