Job summary

NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk seeks a Traffic Management Specialist to manage DoD and commercial shipment movements from NAVSTA Norfolk. The role requires applying DoD regulations, coordinating carrier services, and ensuring accurate documentation for all movement modes.

You will work at GS-07 equivalent level, collaborating with teams to resolve billing, permits, and shipment discrepancies while adapting to evolving transportation technology.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Department of Defense and commercial rules, regulations, laws, and procedures governing the movement of material and use of commercial carriers.
• Knowledge of technical terms and procedures associated with the shipment of all modes of transportation, hazardous cargo, and general cargo.
• Knowledge of the governing regulation Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) Cargo Movement and procedures; covering hazardous and classified all modes of transportation.
• Ability to review and reconcile billing statements and resolve carrier issues.
