Job summary

Bowhead seeks an Engineer to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. The Engineer will provide technical and engineering support services to the Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control Division.

Responsibilities include developing programmatic concepts, performing technical analyses, and supporting procurement planning, testing, and deployment activities. The position offers growth in high-reliability systems and exposure to SP23/SP27 programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• 0–2 years of technical experience with high reliability systems.
• Hardware experience to identify and solve hardware problems.
• Knowledge of missile system design and testing requirements; TRIDENT D5 preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties with minimal supervision and management intervention.
• Support development of programmatic concepts including schedules, metrics, and coordination activities for proper execution of Support Equipment programs.
• Assist Government in the development of program plans, evaluations, testing, and acquisition schedules.
• Analyze and provide rationale for recommendations; deliver program plans to Government (CDRL A004).
• Conduct market research and identify available hardware; verify requirements and perform testing preparations for deployment.
• Assess logistics requirements to ensure completeness and conformance to MIL-HDBK-502 guidance.
• Provide program management support for SP23/SP27 ESE programs and SSP programs SP23/27 tasks.
• Assist NSWC Crane with SP-27 Program Office support for ESE Refresh and updates.
