Job summary

Bowhead Advanced Technology is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the systems engineering effort for a warhead prototyping and development program at Indian Head, MD. You will guide activities across development, integration, testing, and transition to production, coordinating with the Program Office and external experts to meet acquisition milestones.

The role requires 10+ years of defense systems engineering experience, strong requirements management, and excellent communication skills

Qualifications

• 10+ years of systems engineering experience in defense programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with requirements management, verification planning, and DoD milestone evidence.
• Proven ability to coordinate with government and industry partners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering across warhead prototyping, development, integration, and test.
• Serve as liaison with Program Office, stakeholders, and technical experts in torpedoes and energetics.
• Develop long-range test, evaluation, and production schedules; identify dependencies and risks.
• Manage requirements development, decomposition, allocation, and traceability; establish verification methods.
• Prepare engineering documentation and support reviews and decision points.
• Coordinate engineering, testing, manufacturing, and quality activities; maintain configuration control.
