Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to serve as the Systems Engineering Lead for a warhead prototyping and development team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division in Indian Head, MD. The role guides systems engineering across development, integration, testing, and transition to production, coordinating with government and industry partners to meet Navy priorities.

Qualifications

• Ten (10+) years of systems engineering experience in complex defense systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Experience with requirements management, traceability, verification planning, and DoD milestones.

Responsibilities

• Lead across warhead prototyping, development, integration, and test from requirements through production readiness.
• Act as liaison with Program Office, external stakeholders, and technical experts; drive decisions to closure.
• Develop long-range test, evaluation, and production schedules aligning with acquisition milestones.
