Job summary

RTX's Surface Radars & Sensors Center in Portsmouth, RI is seeking STEM interns to gain real-world experience in systems engineering. You'll work on naval sensor systems, analyze data, and help integrate hardware and software.

You'll learn to develop and manage requirements, run tests, and present results to stakeholders as part of a collaborative team. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Bachelor's or higher in engineering, have MATLAB or Python experience, and are prepared for an onsite role in

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or higher degree in a technology or engineering field and entering at least sophomore year by summer 2026.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python for data analysis and automation.
• Must have at least 60 credit hours by internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support systems engineering activities across the design V-model, including requirements definition, architecture development, integration, verification, and validation.
• Conduct data analysis, such as acoustics, radar and sonar data, using MATLAB/Python.
• Perform requirements analysis, development and management.
• Support developing and maintaining system requirements with traceability through design, implementation, and test.
• Assist planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Test activities.
• Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders.
