RTX is seeking an intern to support systems engineering activities across the design V-model, performing data analysis with MATLAB/Python and assisting in requirements management. You will work on traceable system requirements through design and test, while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role provides exposure to naval systems engineering and hands-on data analysis in a structured, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• This internship is for students enrolled in a Technology or Engineering degree program and entering at least their sophomore year by summer 2026.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python for data analysis and automation.
• Minimum of 60 credit hours by start of internship/co-op (on-the-job, coursework, or projects accepted).

Role Type: Onsite

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status. Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. DoD Clearance: Secret. Security Clearance Status: Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

What You Will Do

• Support systems engineering activities across the design V‑model, including requirements definition, architecture development, integration, verification, and validation.

What You Will Learn

The candidate will learn real-world engineering skills by being part of a team supporting Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) activities for naval systems.

Qualifications – You Must Have

• This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) Technology or Engineering, degree program and will be at minimum, entering their sophomore year by the start of summer 2026.
• Experience with tools, such as MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications – We Prefer

• Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
• Experience with or exposure to naval undersea and/or naval surface platforms.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
