Job summary

HunaTek seeks an organized STEM Outreach and Events Coordinator to support the Naval STEM outreach initiatives. You will engage students, families, educators, and community partners, connecting them with Department of the Navy STEM opportunities.

The role includes hands-on event planning, logistics for career fairs, conferences, and family STEM events, and on-site support. Occasional travel and after-hours work are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, event management, public relations, education, or related field.
• At least three years of outreach/event coordination experience.
• Experience planning or supporting in-person events.
• Willingness to travel to approximately 10–20 events per year.
• Ability to interact professionally with students, families, educators, government personnel, and partners.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple deadlines, shipments, and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Excel.
• Current SECRET clearance or ability to obtain/maintain within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Represent Naval STEM programs at career fairs, conferences, student competitions, family STEM events, and more.
• Explain Department of the Navy STEM education and internship opportunities to diverse audiences.
• Coordinate event logistics including registration, schedules, staffing, shipping, and venue requirements.
• Provide on-site support for setup, booth organization, and attendee engagement.
• Travel to ~10–20 events per year, with some multi-day or evening events.
• Collaborate with ONR personnel, labs, educational institutions, vendors, and organizers.
• Maintain event schedules, contact lists, inventories, and program records.
• Draft outreach materials and social media content for diverse audiences.
