Job summary

TMMG is seeking a Shipyard Logistician to support naval ship maintenance, modernization, and fleet readiness programs in a Chesapeake, US location. The role requires 3-5 years in Navy logistics or related fields, with strong emphasis on procurement, material control, and coordination with government and suppliers.

Responsibilities include tracking material requisitions, maintaining accountability of government-furnished material, and supporting planning for maintenance availabilities.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, Navy logistics, provisioning, supply support, material management, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, material tracking, warehouse operations, and procurement processes.
  • Experience supporting maintenance availabilities, modernization programs, or fleet readiness efforts.
  • Familiarity with Navy logistics and supply systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, and bills of material.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material procurement, receipt, storage, inventory control, and material issue activities.
  • Track and monitor material requisitions and receipts to ensure on-time availability of parts and equipment.
  • Support production meetings and provide logistics status updates to project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accountability of government-furnished and contractor-acquired material.
  • Process inventory adjustments, material transactions, and invoice reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with planning and execution of maintenance and modernization availabilities.
  • Review technical docs, engineering drawings, and SWBS data to support logistics planning.
  • Support provisioning, configuration management, and logistics documentation development.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and government stakeholders to resolve shortages and delivery issues.
  • Maintain logistics databases and generate reports supporting contract deliverables.
  • Participate in shipboard validations and material verification efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with NAVSUP policies and supply chain requirements.
