Ingalls Shipbuilding seeks a structural engineer to analyze and develop specifications for metal, composite, and non-metallic structures. You will work on designs spanning mechanical, electrical and marine systems, ensuring durability and damage tolerance.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree with experience (BS) or an MS with minimal experience; familiarity with shipbuilding tools like CATIA, IDEAS, and ShipConstructor is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 2 years of experience.
• Master of Science degree or above in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 0 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze structural engineering specifications for metals, non-metallic or composite materials for product design and operation.
• Assess damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
• Utilize tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, Pro/Engineer, ShipConstructor, Navisworks and FEMAP.
