Job summary
Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks engineers with a strong background in mechanical design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing to support naval propulsion systems. You will work directly with world-class engineers, scientists, researchers and technicians for the Navy's submarines and carriers.
Responsibilities include design, analysis, and testing, development of improved manufacturing processes, and system integration across disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Doctorate degree in a related field.
- Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Responsibilities
- Design, analysis, and testing of new naval nuclear propulsion components and technologies.
- Development of improved manufacturing processes to improve cost and decrease development span times.
- Component/system design, analysis, and support of primary and secondary system development.
- Integration of the mechanical work with the broader reactor plant design team (including electrical, thermal, structural, performance, and nuclear engineers)
