Job summary

Coulter Services in the UK is seeking a Project Engineer to support naval vessel projects. Based in South Shields, the role focuses on developing and implementing engineering solutions, coordinating with internal teams, OEMs, contractors, and MOD stakeholders.

The successful candidate will lead technical planning, oversee upgrades and modifications, maintain documentation, contribute to cost estimation, and ensure safety and quality standards across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in mechanical, marine, or electrical engineering.
• Experience in project engineering within defence or marine sectors.
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on understanding of engineering systems.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with project lifecycles, OEM coordination, and maintenance planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Leading technical planning and overseeing implementation.
• Liaising with MOD and delivering projects from initiation to close-out.
• Resolving issues and contributing to project reporting and continuous improvement activities.
