Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking personnel to plan and control production schedules to meet aggressive shipbuilding timelines in a first-shift, on-site role in Newport News, VA. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent naval/technical credentials and a focus on scheduling, material flow, and coordination across departments.

The role emphasizes managing work-in-progress, material availability, and potential bottlenecks, with formal training and opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other 2-year program plus 2 years relevant exempt experience or 4 years relevant non-exempt
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements.
• Advises management on status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems.
• Schedules equipment and personnel; coordinates interdepartmental activity across QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control and shipping.
• Prepares work orders or purchase requests for production or procurement based on a master production schedule and shop load.
