Job summary
Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Shipyard Field Engineering is seeking a senior field engineer to support the RPCO program at Newport News Shipyard. You will lead technical efforts, coordinate with shipyard and Naval Reactors teams, and oversee installation, testing, diagnosis, and repair of sophisticated nuclear systems.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with 9+ years of relevant experience; or
- Master’s degree with 7+ years; or
- Doctorate with 3+ years; or
- Currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and oversight for installations, testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of complex equipment and nuclear systems.
- Engage with ship's force, senior shipyard leadership and Naval Reactors during field assignments.
- Identify and prevent issues to protect cost and schedule; coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
