Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) seeks an experienced engineer to deliver high-quality electrical control systems for Navy propulsion plants. You will interact with shipyards and vendors, provide lifecycle support, and mentor junior engineers within a high-performing PPS team.

The role involves occasional travel to shipyards and vendor sites, and some work-from-home flexibility based on unit needs. A strong background in electrical systems and system integration is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with 6+ years of experience; or Master's with 4+ years; or Doctorate with 1+ year.

Responsibilities

  • Becoming a subject matter expert on design, operation and maintenance of electrical control systems.
  • Provide technical oversight of organizations developing electrical control systems and networks.
  • Provide full life-cycle support for electrical systems and products.
  • Support troubleshooting of fleet and shipyard issues.
  • Lead and coordinate system design change efforts.
  • Develop and revise test procedures and manuals.
  • Perform technical reviews of design documents.
  • Provide formal technical recommendations.
  • Mentor less-experienced engineers.
