Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in New London, CT, seeks an engineer to lead small groups and collaborate with NAVSEA, vendors and design teams. You will apply Systems Engineering knowledge and electronics/software design to cableway engineering for VIRGINIA Class HM&E.

BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 0–5 years of post‑grad experience is required; ability to obtain Secret clearance and familiarity with TeamCenter, VisMock, Catia, and CDM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination efforts between system engineering, major area team leaders, program office, design and engineering, and leadership.
• Lead coordination efforts between multi-system engineering groups and arrangements design.
• Perform non-standard cableway hanger analysis.
• Perform relative movement calculations, concepts, arrangement validation, cableway development, and cable routing development.
• Support selling ship’s arrangements to the government.
• Candidate must be organized and able to manage relationship between ships requirements and arrangement compliance.
• Responsible for cost and schedule performance of assigned tasks.
• Responsible for managing multiple projects and/or assigned tasks.
• Responsible for developing and presenting system information/status as the design progresses.
• Develop and peer review ERs /CNs
