Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Junior Naval Architect to perform routine analyses and prepare naval architectural deliverables in support of ship design for naval and commercial customers.

The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret security clearance and involves working under guidance from experienced staff. You will contribute to hull form and hydrodynamic analyses, weight and stability studies, and design integration across engineering disciplines while developing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in naval architecture or related engineering field or equivalent training/experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DoW Secret security clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analyses and prepare basic naval architectural deliverables for ships and floating structures.
• Assist in development and validation of design requirements and specifications.
• Follow guidance from senior staff and apply regulatory rules and industry standards.
• Develop hull form geometry, hydrostatics, resistance estimates, and propulsion design in one or more technical areas.
• Coordinate inputs from naval architectural and other engineering disciplines to create balanced designs.
