Job summary

Precise Systems, Inc. seeks an Acoustic Engineer to join the Acoustics Systems Integration Team for the VIRGINIA Class Submarine program, based at the Washington Navy Yard in DC.

The engineer will provide technical and programmatic support to PMS450 and NAVSEA, ensuring design compatibility and acoustic performance for submarine platforms. This in-person role requires deep expertise and regular customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, math, or related technical field.
• 7+ years of professional acoustics engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation of proposed designs and arrangements for PMS450.
• Maintain expert knowledge of ship spec sections and verify program compliance.
• Review submittals and provide assessments with input from stakeholders.
• Lead or co-lead technical coordination with NAVSEA and PMS450 teams.
• Understand how vessel components affect acoustic signatures and work to reduce detectability.
