Job summary

Precise Systems, Inc. seeks an Acoustic Engineer to support the Acoustics Systems Integration Team within PMS450 for the VIRGINIA Class Submarine program. This in-person role at the Washington Navy Yard in DC involves engineering analysis, design review, and coordination with Navy program offices.

The candidate will lead technical discussions, review submittals, and liaise with NAVSEA TWHs, with travel up to 15% and a requirement for DoD/Navy program experience and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, physics or related field and 7+ years of experience in acoustics engineering.
• Seven or more years of professional acoustics engineering experience with relevant DoD/Navy programs is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support PMS450 evaluation of proposed designs and arrangements.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of ship specification sections and verify program compliance.
• Lead technical discussions for project reviews and prepare formal briefings.
• Act as liaison with PMS450 team members and NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holders.
• Regularly meet with the customer to update project status and manage cross-functional reviews.
