Job summary

Sigma Earth in the United States is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to lead client workstreams across nature, biodiversity, and land use, converting complex analyses into actionable business insights. You will design meetings, prepare reports and models, and guide projects from planning to delivery, with a focus on disclosures aligned to TNFD and CSRD, as well as natural capital accounting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nature-related field; master preferred.
  • 8+ years of consulting experience in nature, biodiversity, or related areas.
  • Knowledge of CSRD ESRS, TNFD/LEAP, SBTN, SBTi and natural capital accounting.
  • Understanding Irish, EU, and global sustainability regulations and disclosures.
  • Experience delivering advisory projects for public and private sector clients.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and client relationship skills.
  • Commercial mindset with experience supporting business development.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client workstreams from planning and analysis to evidence synthesis and QA.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and models converting technical content into business insights.
  • Design and facilitate client meetings and workshops to discuss findings, options, and next steps.
  • Deliver projects across nature, biodiversity, and land use topics including impacts, risks, opportunities, and reporting recommendations.
  • Support TNFD and CSRD-aligned disclosure and reporting work where relevant.
  • Collaborate with teams across climate risk, decarbonisation, sustainable finance, circular economy, ESG strategy, and reporting.
  • Help develop tools, methodologies, propositions, and thought leadership for the firm.
  • Support business development through proposals, client engagement, and market outreach.
  • Coach junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the Sustainable Futures team and Nature & Land Use unit.

Peer Group Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in nature, biodiversity, land use, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience, including consulting, in nature, biodiversity, natural capital, ecosystem services, or similar areas.
  • Strong hands‑on knowledge of nature-related standards and frameworks such as CSRD ESRS, TNFD/LEAP, SBTN, SBTi, and natural capital accounting.
  • Good understanding of Irish, EU, and global sustainability regulations, market trends, and nature‑related disclosure requirements.
  • Proven experience delivering advisory projects for public and private sector clients.
  • Ability to simplify complex scientific and regulatory topics into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, including quality control, budget oversight, and client relationship management.
  • Commercial mindset with experience supporting business development and service growth.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members in multidisciplinary teams.
