Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate sustainability/ESG reporting, climate consulting, or management consulting with interest in ESG and climate issues.
  • Understanding of ESG and climate accounting, management, and disclosure standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SASB, TCFD, IFRS, GRESB, ISO 14064, CDP, SBTi, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CA SB 253/261, EU CSRD).
  • Experience with ESG ratings providers and assessments (ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, S&P Global CSA, GRESB).
  • Knowledge of the GHG Protocol and related standards (Scope 2, Product, Scope 3).
  • Ability to implement sustainability, ESG, SBTi, and net zero initiatives, with interest in ESG data management.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and database management skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong writing and editing abilities.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel; Power Query/Power BI/SQL/Python a plus.
  • Background in statistics, data modeling, or business analytics a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and prompt engineering a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strong prioritization.

The Opportunity

The Associate, Sustainability & Climate works within our consulting team to advise clients through multifaceted engagements across sectors, spanning both sustainability and climate-focused work. On the sustainability side, this includes developing ESG visions, strategies, and goals, and helping clients influence performance. On the climate side, this includes developing greenhouse gas emissions inventories, setting carbon emission reduction targets, developing climate transition strategies, verifying carbon emissions, and assessing climate risks.

You will conduct complex analyses and research to create and contribute to client deliverables and will be trained in our approach to client work and across all our services and methodologies. You will significantly contribute to the planning and implementation of client projects as an experienced contributor or technical lead.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end process of developing clients’ annual sustainability and ESG reports in partnership with a cross-functional team of stakeholders.
  • Manage quantitative data collection processes including primary and secondary data, ESG initiatives surveys, perform greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) accounting and verification.
  • Deliver on end-to-end Science Based Targets workstreams, from carbon footprint baseline year calculations to carbon reduction forecasting / pathways and submission to the SBTi.
  • Assess climate-related risks, including physical and transition risks.
  • Perform research on climate policies and industry practices.
  • Conduct analyses of climate-related data from various sources toidentifytrends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, workbooks, and other client deliverables.
  • Support stakeholder engagement interviews across a variety of functions and industries to gather underreported or new ESG performance data and information.
  • Contribute to firm internal efforts including business development, thought leadership, and administrative activities.
Successful Candidates Would
  • Havepreviousexperience in corporate sustainability/ESG reporting, climate consulting, or general management consulting, with a demonstrated interest in ESG and climate issues.
  • Understand sustainability, ESG, and climate accounting, management, and disclosure standards and regulatory frameworks such as SASB, TCFD, IFRS, GRESB, ISO 14064, CDP, SBTi, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CA SB 253, CA SB 261, and EU CSRD.
  • Have experience with ESG ratings providers and assessments such as ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, S&P Global CSA, and GRESB.
  • Have experience and knowledge of the GHG Protocol and related standards (e.g., Scope 2 Standard, Product Standard, Scope 3 Standard, etc.).

  • Havestrong analytical, technical, and database management skills.
  • Be able to communicate and give presentations effectively and professionally.
  • Possess strong writing and editing abilities.
  • Haveadvanced PowerPoint and Excel skills. Experience with Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or Python is a plus, though notrequired.
  • Background in statistics, data modeling, or business analytics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and prompt engineering, with an interest in integrating AI and automation into day‑to‑day workflows, is a plus.
  • Be comfortable executing multiple projects and high-quality deliverables simultaneously, with excellent time management skills and a strong senseof prioritization.
  • Be committed to learning new concepts and industry best practices within a fast‑paced, high-performance consulting environment.
Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience(i.e., climate change, sustainability and ESG, management consulting,data modeling, businessanalytics)
  • GHG Protocol familiarity and training
