Job summary

The Douglas-Hart Foundation seeks an Assistant Education Coordinator to support educational services across its three properties, including youth programs, camps, and visitor-center activities. This role blends administrative duties with hands-on teaching and program leadership.

You will lead camps and field trips, coordinate registrations, manage CRM records, assist staff and volunteers, and help create exhibits and educational resources for trails, visitor centers, and classrooms.

Qualifications

  • Degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Experience operating educational programs at a nature center, museum, arboretum, zoo, or park is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NGSS/ELA/SEL curricula or scout programs is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement summer camps, including design, marketing, staffing, logistics, and daily operations.
  • Lead and teach individuals of all ages across program formats (field trips, outreach, camps, workshops, public programs).
  • Assist with development and implementation of public programs for diverse audiences.
  • Travel and lead programs in varying environments requiring logistics.
