Job summary

North Wind Resource Consulting is seeking a Natural Resources Field Technician for outdoor field surveys across Casper, WY and surrounding areas. The role involves 8 days on/6 days off rotation, 10–12 hour days, and travel between survey sites with a strong emphasis on data collection and QA in challenging environments.

The position supports a field team, works under a Project Manager in Idaho Falls, and is expected to run from April/May through September 30, with possible extensions based on

Qualifications

• Education includes a High School Diploma and outdoor travel experience.
• Willingness to learn vegetation identification and soil sampling protocols.
• Ability to travel and work rotating 8 days on/6 days off with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small team to collect data and perform field sampling following NRCS NRI methodology.
• Follow field protocols and safety standards during outdoor operations.
• Learn vegetation sampling, soil characterization and related tasks.
• Ensure data accuracy and proper entry and uploading to the appropriate channels.
• Support Field Lead and team to ensure data quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Assist in navigating off-trail and operating 4WD vehicles on remote roads.
• Maintain and care for equipment and vehicles to prevent damage.
