Job summary

North Wind Resource Consulting seeks a Natural Resources Field Technician for field-based surveys in Utah and Idaho. The role is temporary full-time with an 8 on/6 off schedule and 75–100% travel, supporting vegetation, soils, and data collection per NRCS/NRI protocols.

Work with a small team, follow safety standards, and report to the Idaho Falls Project Manager. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, comfort working outdoors, and experience with field data collection.

Qualifications

• Education and experience in outdoor remote environments.
• Interest or knowledge in vegetation identification and soil sampling.
• Data collection protocols and field procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 2-3 person team to collect data per NRI methodology.
• Follow field protocols, ensuring safety and quality.
• Learn vegetation sampling and soil characterization techniques.
• Ensure data accuracy and proper data uploading.
• Support Field Lead and teammates for safety and efficiency.
• Navigate off-trail and operate 4WD on remote roads.
• Maintain and care for equipment and vehicles.
