Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Site Deployment Lead to manage the on-site deployment of enterprise infrastructure for the NATO IT Modernization programme. The role requires coordinating platform, network, security and DevOps activities across multiple teams at NATO locations, including frequent travel to NATO sites.

The successful candidate will lead readiness, sequencing, validation, and customer acceptance activities, ensuring compliance with architecture and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• Active NATO Secret clearance (or higher).
• Demonstrated experience leading deployment, installation, integration, commissioning, or field implementation of enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Hands‑on experience installing, configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting enterprise data‑center infrastructure across compute/virtualization, networking, security, storage, and backup/recovery.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary infrastructure teams across platform, networking, cybersecurity, storage, backup/recovery, cloud, and DevOps technologies.
• Experience deploying enterprise infrastructure within secure, mission‑critical environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure implementation, deployment processes, validation, troubleshooting, and customer acceptance.
• Experience developing and executing implementation plans, runbooks, readiness checklists, and rollback plans.
• Experience site readiness assessments and coordinating prerequisites for deployment.
• Experience coordinating dependencies and resolving blockers across engineering disciplines.
• Experience with VMware-based private cloud, virtualization, networking, storage, security, backup/recovery.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, APIs) and automation for configuring infrastructure.
• Experience in Agile/SAFe/DevSecOps environments and using Jira for planning and deployment execution.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer engagement, problem‑solving, and coordination skills.
• Ability to travel internationally to NATO locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, readiness, coordination, and execution of integrated infrastructure deployments at NATO customer sites.
• Develop and maintain site deployment plans, schedules, readiness criteria, installation sequences, and completion criteria.
• Coordinate Platform, Network, Firewall, Backup & Recovery, IaaS, DevOps, cybersecurity, test, and other engineering disciplines during site implementation.
• Serve as the primary technical coordination point between on-site teams, programme leadership, remote engineers, NATO stakeholders, and partners.
• Lead site readiness activities with NATO representatives to verify facilities, power, cabling, IP addressing, equipment, software, credentials, and security requirements are met.
• Provide go/no-go recommendations based on completion of prerequisites and dependencies.
• Guide physical and automated deployment of site infrastructure, including rack-and-stack, cabling, platform configuration, and validation.
• Validate sequencing and dependencies between physical infra, network, platform services, security, and automation.
• Coordinate installation, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities.
• Ensure deployments conform to architectures, standards, automation strategies, and NATO security requirements.
• Coordinate runbooks, build guides, procedures, automation workflows, and rollback plans.
• Lead daily deployment meetings, status reviews, and issue resolution.
• Identify blockers, risks, and dependencies; escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with Test teams for integration testing and acceptance.
• Track progress in Jira and program tools; maintain records and lessons learned.
• Support transition to customer acceptance and operational readiness.
