Job summary

San Diego State University’s Native Resource Center seeks a collaborative Native Student Success Advisor and Program Manager to support Native and Indigenous students’ academic success and well-being. You will supervise student staff, provide individualized advising, and coordinate signature programs with campus and community partners.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or related field; may substitute for experience.
• Experience advising Native/Indigenous students and coordinating culturally responsive programs.
• Three years of progressive student services experience; one year in the program area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and support student assistants; provide training and daily oversight.
• Offer individualized advising and referrals to promote academic success and well-being.
• Plan and evaluate culturally responsive programs and events with campus/community partners.
• Collaborate with faculty and departments to support student engagement and belonging.
• Assist with NRC operations and assess program effectiveness to improve services.
