San Diego State University seeks a collaborative Native Student Success Advisor and Program Manager to support Native and Indigenous students at the Native Resource Center. You will supervise student assistants, provide individualized advising, and coordinate culturally responsive programs and events that promote belonging and academic success.

Qualifications

• Decolonial methods knowledge in educational settings including Native history.
• Knowledge of Native and Indigenous student experiences and belonging approaches.
• Experience providing individualized advising to support academic success and well-being.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating culturally responsive programs.
• Experience supervising and mentoring student assistants in daily operations.
• Strong communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and support student assistants through training and daily operations.
• Provide individualized advising, guidance, and referrals to support academic success and well-being.
• Coordinate signature cultural and educational programs (e.g., Orange Shirt Day, Indigenous Days, symposium).
• Collaborate with faculty, departments, and partners to support programming and engagement.
• Support NRC operations, assess program effectiveness, and identify improvements.
