Job summary

Green River College seeks a Tribal Pathway Manager to provide case management and academic/career support for Native American students in CTE programs, with emphasis on Natural Resources through the CEDAR project. The role connects GRC with Muckleshoot Tribal College and guides students from recruitment through graduation.

The TPM works with faculty and staff to implement cultural programming, supports professional development, and coordinates services to maximize students’ postsecondary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in social, educational or human related field.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve mutual goals.
  • Experience providing direct service to Native American students at the postsecondary level; and with working with and on behalf of Native American communities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with lead faculty and in CTE programs to welcome tribal students.
  • Consult with Natural Resources and other CTE faculty and Muckleshoot Tribe personnel on processes to reduce barriers.
  • Inform prospective students about degree options and related career pathways or transfer options and requirements; interpret assessment scores.
  • Help students become self-directed in the educational planning process by connecting them to existing resources to acquire essential college success skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect potentially sensitive personal information in all matters pertaining to students and parents/caregivers.
  • Follow up with Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, and other student support services to resolve admission, registration, and graduation problems.
  • Coordinate and conduct student, family, and community learning activities or events that infuse Tribal history and cultural knowledge into GRC CTE programs.
  • Collaborate with teams to recruit students to Natural Resources and other CTE programs offered by GRC and to plan outreach events.
