Job summary

Frazee-Vergas Public School District is seeking an Indian Education Coordinator to support Native American students and families. You will interpret, advocate, and serve as a liaison under the direction of the Principal and Superintendent.

The role includes tutoring, conferences, grant writing, and compliance with state/federal reporting for the Indian education program. A relevant degree and experience in multicultural settings are preferred as part of the qualifications.

Qualifications

• Associates/Technical degree in social science or related field required or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, with coursework in social science or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for Indian students and families; provide tutoring for K-12 students.
• Confer with students, parents and staff regarding progress and concerns.
• Assist with placement of students in alternative learning environments.
• Create and maintain records, reports, lists and forms for student use.
• Provide college, career, tribal and cultural information for Indian students.
• Write and maintain local, state and federal reports for the Indian education program.
