Job summary

Aberdeen School District seeks a Native Education Coordinator to oversee the Native Education Grant, coordinating educational and cultural programming for Native American students to help meet state standards.

You will collaborate with families, school staff and tribal partners to deliver tutoring, organize advisory meetings, and ensure timely grant documentation. This role requires flexibility, confidentiality and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology or Counseling preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures, preferably Native American Tribes.
  • Background clearance required (FBI and WA State Patrol).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an educational and cultural program aligning with state standards.
  • Coordinate tutorial services in core subjects for Native American students.
  • Promote awareness of Native American history, traditions and culture.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students, parents and school staff.
  • Facilitate communication between Native American families and school personnel.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology or Counseling (preferred)
Experience with diverse cultures (Native American Tribes preferred)
Ability to work with families and community
Excellent written and verbal communication
