Job summary

Aberdeen School District is seeking a Native Education Coordinator to plan and implement the Native Education Grant focused on helping Native American students meet state academic standards. Reporting to the Native Education Administrator, you will coordinate services, data collection, and program activities.

Responsibilities include developing culturally related programs, coordinating tutoring in core subjects, engaging families and staff, and ensuring compliance with district and grant

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four-year degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology or Counseling preferred.
• Experience working with diverse cultures, preferably local Native American Tribes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an educational and cultural program for Native American students to meet state standards.
• Coordinate tutorial services in core subjects for Native American students.
• Coordinate programs to increase awareness of Native American history and culture.
• Establish and maintain relationships with students, parents and school staff.
• Facilitate communication between Native American families and school staff.
