Job summary

CCI Systems, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Testing Technician to support nationwide fiber networks. The role involves interpreting fiber design documents, performing comprehensive testing, and ensuring certification and validation for new builds, turnups, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of fiber optic theory incl. attenuation and fiber types.
• 2+ years in fiber optic testing, troubleshooting, certification preferred.
• Experience testing ribbon fiber and loose tube cables preferred.
• Proficiency with OTDR, OLTS, Optical Power Meters, CD/PMD, and VFL preferred.
• Ability to read splice matrices and relate test results to design docs.

Responsibilities

• Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 fiber testing per customer specs and industry standards.
• Test SM and MM fiber using OTDR, OLTS, CD/PMD, Optical Power Meters, VFLs.
• Interpret fiber design documents and splice diagrams for validation.
• Troubleshoot fiber performance issues and outages.
• Verify routes and labeling against design docs; support turnups and handoffs.
• Maintain and calibrate fiber test equipment; complete testing reports and photos.
• Follow OSHA, NESC, NEC safety standards; work with field teams.
• Travel up to 100% nationwide; potential evenings or weekends.
